With #2 on the way I have fears that I feel are normal. Mostly fears for Jacob. How will he adjust? Will he like being a big brother? How will he feel about sharing his toys, parents and space? All of these fears were summoned to the forefront of my mind this afternoon.
We've been watching a nest of baby birds for the past week or so. It looked like there were 3 baby birds in the nest. I always got warm fuzzy feelings when I saw the mother bird feeding her precious babies. After all, here were 3 siblings who seemed to be fine with sharing everything. Then, when Jacob and I went outside to play today there was one precious baby bird splattered on the concrete. At first I thought, "That poor bird must have fallen....how unfortunate." Then my thoughts turned to the mother bird. "That poor mother." But then I saw not two baby bird heads poking out of the nest but 3!!! There just wasn't room for 4!
But who pushed it out?

Day Two
Just so you know, the picture is not of him licking vomit. He is cleaning applesauce from Pooby's head. I guess best friends are allowed to clean each other this way.

Tub Time
I think bath time is a wonderful time to sing. And a wonderful time to learn about your body. After all, you're already naked! Jacob really decided to join in the singing last night. Of course, by the time Daddy made it in with the camera he had simmered down a bit and was distracted. He was fully prepared for a quick picture, but not a full blown performance. You can't even hear him sing "me" at the end, but he did sing it. I also had to cut the beginning of the video. Lee was initially standing up and I didn't want my baby's privates splattered all over the internet. Listen close at the end.....Jacob says, "I love you, DaDa."

Helper
At some point...between August and March....our kiddie pool blew over and filled with rain and leaves. Every other day I will comment to Lee, "We really need to empty that pool." Every other day since....probably November. I'm not sure what prompted it, but today we took on that challenge. Jacob was eager to help. I held him back as long as I could, but eventually gave in and accepted that he was going to get wet. I didn't get any of the really good stuff. He filled up the bucket a few times and dumped it right down the front of himself, screaming with glee the entire time! He had soooooo much fun. The disappointment overtook him when we were done and many tears were shed:(

Stray Cat
If you know me and read the title of this post you must be thinking.."I can't believe they took in another stray cat, suckers!" Well, we couldn't turn this one away. He's awfully cute. He still doesn't know how to use the box, but he will learn in time. He's a little crazy, but he calms down and gets pretty lovey at night. I guess he misses the streets a little, because he still won't eat out of his dishes....he prefers digging around on the floor and the trash.

HE EATS
After....I don't know, months.....of not eating dinner, Jacob finally decided to eat last night. It was homemade spaghetti sauce, and not very good. I was missing a few ingredients and didn't feel like cooking anyway. But apparently he loved it! I thought that I liked my food bland...but Jacob likes his food REALLY bland.
